There were several under-rated animated movies that came out in the early 2000s. Here are some examples:

Warner Bros.
"The Iron Giant" (1999) - Although technically released at the end of the 90s, this animated movie from Warner Bros. didn't gain widespread popularity until later. It's a beautifully crafted film about a young boy who befriends a giant robot from space.

Disney Pictures
"Atlantis: The Lost Empire" (2001) - A Disney movie that didn't receive as much attention as some of the studio's other films. It follows a team of explorers searching for the lost city of Atlantis.

Disney Pictures
"Treasure Planet" (2002) - Another Disney movie that didn't do as well as it could have. It's a sci-fi retelling of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson story "Treasure Island," with stunning visuals and an incredible soundtrack.

DreamWorks Animation
"The Road to El Dorado" (2000) - A DreamWorks animated film that tells the story of two con men who stumble upon the legendary city of gold. The movie has a great soundtrack and some really fun, memorable characters.

DreamWorks Animation
"Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" (2002) - A DreamWorks movie about a wild mustang who refuses to be tamed by humans. It's a beautiful, visually stunning movie with a unique animation style and an emotional story.
BONUS:

Disney Pictures
"Lilo & Stitch" (2002) - While not necessarily under-rated, this Disney movie didn't receive the same level of attention as some of the studio's other films at the time. It's a heartwarming story about a young girl who befriends an alien experiment that crash-lands on Earth.
These movies are all worth checking out if you're looking for some under-rated animated gems from the early 2000s. #LiloandStitch #Spirit #TheRoadtoElDerado #TreasurePlanet #AtlantisTheLostEmpire #TheIronGiant
