Parents beware brining your kid(s) to this movie! Super Mario Bros was a special movie! I think they nailed it on the family aspect. The voice actors were spectacular! The adaptation of the video game music to movie soundtrack was amazing! The music selection was also superb! I also go to here one of my favorite actors sing a lot and it was a good time! It was already a stacked voice acting cast, but they really brought it! I left the movie thinking there is nobody I can think of that would do a better job than those guys. I loved how they had to have the infamous Seth Rogan laugh with DK's character. I left the movie wanting a little brother, instead I have two amazing, strong, and fearless sisters. I loved the beginning of the movie with just Mario and Luigi. I loved the premise of the movie that Mario and Luigi are actual humans who live in New York. I thought the fan service was amazing! I didn't think it was cheesy at all! I am so ready for this to take off and make a second movie. Beware your kids will rewatch this movie over and over once it hits streaming! I myself will probably watch this movie two more times once it hits theatres.
I do have two complaints. I wasn't a fan Mario and Luigi separated for most of the movie. I would have loved to see Mario and Luigi together the entire time. Chris and Charlie had amazing chemistry and the animation was cherry on top. Another complaint I had was there wasn't enough action sequences. When the action happened, it was epic! I needed more of that and I hope in the next movie(s) they do that.
10/10 recommend you go with a group to watch this movie! Then afterwards dust off the old Wii or even older systems and play some Super Mario Bros with your loved ones. It was a special movie, for many special moments I shared with mine growing up. GO WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!
